Product highlights and buying context
Designed as a streamlined version of its predecessor the RODECaster Video, the RODECaster Video S All-in-One Audio/Video Console offers the same powerful video switching and recording as well as studio-grade audio control for podcasters, streamers, and solo creators. The console offers intuitive control over both video and audio sources with its onboard controls, 2" touchscreen display, and rotary encoder. A variety of connectivity options, including HDMI and USB-C ports, NDI inputs, and both wired and wireless network connections. Add the RODECaster Video S to your preexisting RODE audio ecosystem using the USB-C audio ports or RODE Central software for advanced device configuration.
The scene builder in RODE Central allows you to create a completely customized scene from scratch. Select a RODE preset with default layouts and themes for your keying backgrounds or video borders. A live RTMP feed will update to show your changes in real-time. You can save up to five scenes and switch between them instantly at the press of a button.
Podcasters looking for the right mic to bring professional-quality sound to their productions on YouTube, FaceBook, Twitch, and elsewhere have a great option with the black PodMic from Rode. This cost-effective, yet stylish, end-address dynamic XLR microphone is specifically tuned for speech and broadcast. Tailor-made for use with the RODECaster Pro podcast production studio and PSA1 broadcast arm, it can also be plugged into a wide range of pro-audio gear to deliver broadcast-quality sound.
This microphone is part of the Fotohaus Klinger Virtual Mic Locker, an online tool to help our valued customers determine the sonic differences between popular microphones for podcasting and voice over work. Each microphone was recorded using a Grace Design M103 preamp into a Presonus Quantum 2626 interface.
Most podcasts happen in bedrooms, home studios, or offices with less than perfect acoustics and noises coming from the outside. The PodMic features a dynamic capsule with a tight cardioid polar pattern, great for picking up the speaker while reducing unwanted sounds that are further away or off to the sides.
Solid-brass construction with a hard-wearing matte-black ceramic finish ensures that the PodMic will continue to deliver the same level of performance over the years, while still looking great.
The PodMic's internal pop filter and double-mesh housing work to effectively reduce distracting breath and plosive noises (as in s, p, and b sounds) without the need for an unsightly external pop filter.
The internal shockmount helps to isolate the PodMic from handling noise and vibrations when you are adjusting the mic or if there's a bump or knock on the table. The integrated swing mount that holds the mic further insulates it from low-frequency noises, which could ruin your audio.
