This 3-stop MovieMate Magnetic Circular Soft-Edge Reverse Graduated ND Filter from Kase is a 95mm unthreaded magnetic filter made to fit the MovieMate Magnetic Matte Box. It darkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. This reverse ND design is ideal for photographing sunrises and sunsets, where the density of the filter is greatest in the middle and tapers off to the edges. By reversing this direction of a graduated ND, bright horizon lines can be more accurately controlled while retaining exposure in the foreground and sky. A soft edge is appropriate for use where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees.

Made of shockproof optical glass, this filter is multicoated and features an IR-cut coating for accurate light and color transmission. It also has a scratch-resistant and waterproof coating for use in harsh environments with easy cleaning.
