Optical resolution is a native 600 x 600 dpi for sharp text and documents, and the printer has fast, letter-size print speeds of 30 ppm. Direct printing is available via USB 2.0 and the unit features a durable monthly duty cycle of 20,000 pages. Also featured is an input tray that fits up to 150 sheets or 10 envelopes, an output tray of up to 100 sheets or 10 envelopes, and media sizes that include letter, legal, executive, and envelopers, with custom sizes of 4 x 6" to 8.5 x 14". Aside from paper and envelopes, supported media includes labels, cardstock, and postcards.

Please note that this printer is intended to work only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip, and it uses dynamic security measures to block cartridges using a non-HP chip. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked. A reused HP chip enables the use of reused, remanufactured, and refilled cartridges.
