Product highlights and buying context
Designed for high-speed data acquisition and capture applications, the RocketU 1444C PCIe 3.0 x16 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Host Controller Card from HighPoint fits into a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot on your host Windows or Linux system using an included low-profile bracket. It is equipped with four 20 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports, each of which is powered by a dedicated controller, ensuring that each port always has full access to 20 Gb/s of bandwidth, with no per-port bandwidth sharing. Each port also outputs up to 7.5W of charging power. Operations are kept cool using an anodized aluminum heatsink with a fan, while an MTBF of 920,585 hours helps ensure a long life. Also featured is USB backward compatibility.
Each USB device port on the RocketU 1444C is fully independent and powered by a dedicated 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 controller chip, backed by a PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface. The 20 Gb/s per-port performance controller architecture ensures each hosted USB device can operate at maximum throughput without saturating the bus or taxing system resources.
The PCIe 3.0 host interface works in tandem with the per-port performance architecture to ensure each individual USB port can deliver 20 Gb/s of transfer bandwidth at all times, even in cases where each port is occupied and under heavy load.
Dedicated USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 controllers enable each port to work independently and deliver up to 7.5W of power for device operation or charging purposes. The innovative PCB layout provides a dedicated USB connection pathway for each port; hosted USB devices can operate at peak performance, without the risk of interference by neighboring USB connections.
The RocketU 1444C's performance-focused HBA architecture was designed for workflows that demand ease of integration, hot-plug capability, and rapid file transfer. The independent 20 Gb/s USB ports and PCIe 3.0 host interface can easily accommodate a wide range of high-speed data acquisition applications, including imaging and capture solutions, security systems, and media archiving.
